The Job Opportunity
As an Assistant Technician, your purpose of the role is to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance within a facilities management civil works section, individually or as part of a technical team, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the business operations.

Key Accountabilities
Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work.
Any other work as assigned by the supervisor / duty engineer to achieve the purpose.
Can read interpret and describe the functionality of civil works drawings (schematic & layout drawing)
Knowledge in the use & interpretation of Local and International Standards and Regulations. Assets Exposure (Direct) Major assets below, but not limited to:
Indoor and outdoor walls
Various types of wall units
Gypsum walls, Wooden wall claddings
Various types of furniture
Runways, Taxiways, Asphalt/paved/concrete Roads
Tasks’ Experience (Hands-on) Tasks such as, but not limited to:
Conduct Inspections to determine the need for painting
Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces • Providing decorative and faux finishes
Runway markings
Pavement marking
Road markings

Specific requirements
High School Certificate
Industrial Training Institute Certificate / Diploma (2 year duration) in painting and decorating or equivalent (post high school)
IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent
Current valid UAE driving licence is desirable
Minimum three (3) year experience within facility management and/or civil works or similar environment.
Airport experience is considered as added advantage for this position
Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in oral and written English
Working Knowledge in using MS Office (Word / Excel / Power point)
Ability to perform safely and correctly the following:
Use of painting & decorating hand and power tools • Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines
Corrective maintenance (CM)
Breakdown maintenance (BD)
To include (interior and exterior where applicable)
Surface preparation
Wallpapering and hangings to walls and ceilings
Application of decorative effects
Painting skirting
Roads and Pavement marking
Painting plain and panelled doors and architrave
Wall and ceiling painting
