The Opportunity

Financial Analyst Gulf and Emerging Markets (Fixed term contract for 1 year)

Reporting to- Finance Director, Gulf and Emerging Markets

Financial Analyst will play a critical role in assisting the coordination and execution of business planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis for GEM business. This role will provide finance support to internal business partners, providing thoughtful analysis and insight into business trends. Essential duties and responsibilities include monthly close, budgeting, LBE planning and forecasting, variance analysis, decision support projects and ad hoc analysis, feasibilities etc.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly financial results, reporting packages, highlighting, and investigating key variances.

  • Support Finance team with month closing and forecasting.

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports in due time.

  • Contribute and assist in key month end activities to align with forecast & to ensure accurate results and financial records. Ensure all expenditures are appropriately booked and compliant with GAAP and Abbott policies.

  • Proactively seek to improve and enhance financial and business processes. Streamline processes and identify opportunities to standardize and provide efficiency.

Planning, Budgeting & Financial Analysis:

  • Support the consolidation and analyses of the Monthly, Quarterly Budget and Annual Planning processes, including support in preparation and review of the GEM Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Risks/Opportunities, and other Ad-Hoc analyses.

  • Coordinating with Commercial in providing them with support necessary.

  • Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

People management

  • Develop professional relationships with internal stakeholders

Required competencies / experiences

  • Fluent in English (= working language)

  • Expert in Excel

  • PowerPoint / Presentation skills

  • Accounting experience a plus

  • Highly analytical, with an eye for detail

  • Entrepreneurial and creative

  • Strong commitment, willing to take ownership

  • Experience working in a multicultural environment, with strong, professional communication and writing skills.

Educational requirements

Minimum university degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Similar

Experience

At least 3 years in financial planning and reporting role in Pharma or FMCG
