General Area of Responsibility
- Reporting to the Managing Director with a dotted line to the Chief People Officer and accountable for people; shore and crewing, culture, and strategic business partnership for the Svitzer AMEA region.
- A leader who demonstrates superior people focus, is part of the Regional Leadership Team and leads the regional people & culture team. Takes global ownership by aligning with the Chief People Officer and People Leadership team driving the Svitzer culture forward.
- Responsible for the formation and delivery of the Svitzer AMEA People Strategy.
Specific Areas of Responsibility
- Act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director Svitzer AMEA and the Regional Leadership Team on every item that impacts our people & teams – Performance, Culture, Organization, Capability Building & Training, Leadership Development, DEI, Engagement & Wellbeing, Compensation and Industrial Relations
- Deliver an outstanding People Experience to all in Svitzer AMEA including assisting our leaders by offering the right support and tools to run the business. Delivering and overseeing all people life cycle elements which includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and offboarding employing best practice standards.
- Effective delivery of all People and Crewing Operations ensuring accuracy, timely service experience and resolution utilizing Workday self-service and all other people platforms
- Leadership of the people and culture team to ensure a performance focused and engaged team who work together coherently, are clear on their roles and have the support to do their roles. This includes the crewing function.
- Team first mentality by collaborating with the Regional Leadership Team, supporting the Managing Director to deliver the people strategy for AMEA while simultaneously being an active team member of the Global People Leadership team aligning the Global P&C Agenda to the regional people strategy. Displaying strong co-ownership by working in a matrix structure to serve our people.
- Defining, assessing, and driving change around the Svitzer people culture program in collaboration with the Global People & Culture Team. A team and talent creator who will support the leadership team on leading the culture transformation across Svitzer AMEA.
Education / Functional Experience
- Bachelor and/ or master’s degree in human resources, business discipline or psychology.
- CIPD/ / SHRM qualified at associate or member level desirable.
- 10 - 15 years HR Business Partnership experience in transportation, maritime or logistics sectors.
- Solid stakeholder engagement with capability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
- Sound fiscal management knowledge and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the capability to interact with people at a broad range of levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure.
- Possess empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding, and effective communication skills and integrity.
- Comfortable with navigating employment laws, drafting employment terms and contracts for senior management and scarce skills professionals.
- High drive result oriented and decisive with a passion for winning.
- Resiliency in challenging situations.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Willingness to travel.
- Organizational change and transformational or M&A experience is sought after
